Before the puritans take charge, I'd like to make a few points. Unless the event was billed in advance as a grope fest, I cannot see how anyone who attended, and did not participate in groping can be investigated by the SRA.

The last time I looked at the rules, there was no prohibition on solicitors attending single sex events. Such a prohibition would not only cause a shudder among old Etonian judges at the Garrick club (neither noted for their women members), but inhibit the Association of Women Solicitors, and mess up women only swimming sessions.

Still less can you prohibit solicitors from attending an event where people might misbehave. This would preclude pretty well all sporting events, as well as most social events.

So, before the Witch Finder General is appointed, can we have a sense of proportion?
