Is this the start of a slippery slope? Will the end of the slippery slope be a new, more extensive form of crown immunity? Will the argued logic for that be that no-one pays directly for the services provided to them by the NHS so why should anyone expect to be compensated if the services are provided negigently and they suffer in consequence? After all, no-one forced them to use public sector services. They could always have gone to the private sector where, if things go wrong, they can expect to recover uncapped costs!
