Anon at 16.02 and 16.38 - what complete and utter rubbish!!

As hard as it may be for you to accept, Defendant's solicitors don't have a magic wand to tell them what the right figure the Claimant will accept in settlement of their claim. The early settlement offers I make are good offers and would probably stand scrutiny at Trial, that is the point of making them.

However, if you are suggesting that we should be running claims from defence to Trial for the difference of £500 to £1,000 at what is likely to be four times the cost to our client plus disbursements shows plainly the point I made about commercially inept, underhanded, profiteering Claimant's solicitors in the first place. Had you ever had to make a decision on the basis of a cost/benefit analysis then you would never have made such a ridiculous comment!
