There is no legal entity called "The Law Society Group". The legal entity is the Law Society. Where the phrase "Law Society Group" came from is unclear. At best, it is some sort or trading name for the Law Society.

'The longer-term ambition must be standalone, independent regulation with clear lines of accountability to the public we serve. This could be through the scrutiny of a select committee, or perhaps oversight by the judiciary.'

Here are a couple of other ideas for "clear lines of accountability": hold your board meetings in public and ask Parliament to designate you as a public authority under the FOIA 2000, so that your decision-making processes can be properly scrutinised (and not just by a select committee or judge).
