The rules need fixing up, let's be honest - the world has moved on since they were drafted and an update would be welcome.

But if you engage in any litigation, whether in practice or as a LiP, you should know the rules that apply. One does not rugby tackle in football and expect it to simply be accepted just because the opponent knew it was about to happen and could brace themselves.
