"...The CPS will NEVER drop a case in the magistrates' court out of a realisation that they have failed to comply with their disclosure obligations. Maybe all this will change that? It's hard to say at this stage. .."

They did often for me when I used to probe. The problem is that no-one can thus do anymore as they cant get paid out of Central Funds for doing so.

One needs to be able to go to Court and again and again and again and be persistent. Then be able to wait on the line whilst the right CPS file manager is located and their overseeing 'lawyer'.

This does not come cheap and certainly not for a unit fee (but did come for the fees paid in Central Funds).

Coupled with a Squeegee Merchant culture of Anthony Lyndon Blair and Jack Straw in which one offence was created (to micro manage the oiks), for every day of office and a victim based culture behind the prosecution service (I is gonna complain about you) ....

That should be enough to understand why the cases dont fold quickly enough..

Oh and a culture of selection of prosecutors not on practical experience but the correct tick box (compliance stats) ....

Scruff.
