An updated HMLR Practice Guide - that would explain HMLR threatening to cancel applications for registration because the factory conveyancers acting for attorneys did not carry out due diligence on the donor of an Office of the Public Guardian validated LPA. And I thought the idea of the OPG managing LPAs as opposed to the old EPA system was intended to reduce fraud although what we see here appears to be one government agency not trusting the documentation validated by another government agency.

Anyone buying under a power of attorney will need to ensure the vendor's solicitors have carried out their due diligence on the donor - although quite how the vendor's solicitors do this may prove interesting.
