I think the "insurer sour grapes" being expressed on here are because insurers were naïve enough to think that if they reduced costs recoverable on claims to de minimis then solicitors would leave the market - enabling the insurance industry either to fill the void or simply denying injured people recompense.
The fact that the profession have adapted their business models to cope with the reduced income and continue to provide a service to the public does not sit well.
