As is often the case RPW @ 10:29 is spot on...

Whether the amounts sought in payment were well below 'market rate' for such work or not is besides the point.

This man took money from people tipping up to a not-for-profit/charity organisation seeking help.

That the work was immigration and asylum based it is probably safe to assume that these people had limited familiarity with our justice system, possibly language issues and were inherently vulnerable.

This was exploitation of the worst kind, not only of his position but of the people coming to his organisation for help...deplorable.
