Anon 09:19 - because he used his position, at a charity no less, to make profit for himself under the name of the charity, from vulnerable people who most likely didn't know any better.

It is personal opinion as to the morality of his conduct (personally, I would have thought if helping people was his prime motivation, he would have done it pro bono and probably not have had to hide it from the charity!) but you cannot escape the fact that what he did was very wrong. Of course he should be struck off, his conduct doesn't do much to dispel the commonly held belief that solicitors are greedy and self-serving.
