By labelling my comment as 'derogatory' you have clearly missed the point I was trying to make, that a housing association will not send someone who knows nothing about the relevant law to court, which is the exact position a LiP will most likely find themselves in. Even where a lawyer is not used, they employ housing officers who are trained to have specific knowledge of the law and housing procedures. To say otherwise would be deliberately adversarial.

There is nothing derogatory in suggesting that people might not have any knowledge of matters they are not required to have. I don't know how to fit a boiler, and it would be very unwise for a plumber to send me out to do so.
