If he had not been authorised to set up as a sole practitioner, maybe he would not be in the position of being struck off. If the SRA gave consideration to the nature of the practice - this appears to be a practice dependant on the use of external supervisors for the purposes of their legal aid contracts, headed by someone who had not been on the roll for very long, so no i am not talking about sole practioners- then maybe the SRA could have directed resources into monitoring them so that their first years went smoothly. It could have turned out well but on paper it looked like an accident waiting to happen. Strategising is not difficult SRA.
