As has been pointed out, the fraudsters will shift to credit hire and vehicle repairs which come in at oooh just under the FT limit.

The insurers will have stripped back on their experienced file handlers, the economics of defending these claims will militate against their defence (and even if they are defending they will be SCT matters with the prohibitions on expert evidence and so on).

Just pause and ask how much more difficult it is to defend dodgy hire claims when they're in the MoJ Portal and then multiply the additional level of difficulty by a factor of 2/3.

These proposed reforms actually make fraud both easier to commit and harder to defend.
