@ Peter's comment @13:30. I am sure the new GDPR rules will solve that problem. I do think though, when all is said and done, both solicitors, coop legal, final duties and many others are all businesses. I'm sure that solicitors think that only they are best placed when it comes to legal services, and I'm sure that coop, final duties and others believe they offer another avenue into legal services.

I agree with anon @ 13:07 on 7/4/18 when he/she said that all legal service providers should all remember that whomever is doing work on behalf of a client always does what is in their interest, not to use as easy way of making money, and to remember a person paying for these services is often times a family member trying to sort out a loved ones affairs.

I'm sure there are plenty of clients happy with work provided by solicitors, coop legal, final duties etc, as I am also sure there are clients who have been unhappy with with provided.

What everyone must remember is, it is unlikely that anything will change and possibly new ABS companies will appear and offer similar services which many will probably not like either.

Legal professionals should treat each other with respect at all times, regardless of whether they like something or not. I myself have the utmost respect for solicitors and what they do, however, I also think that coop legal and the others, also offer an important service to consumers and as another commenter mentioned these are businesses that need to pay staff etc.

So good luck to all professionals and continue helping your clients and I wish you all success.
