Dual representation will be firmly back on the table if the SRA proposals for reform of Professional indemnity insurance go ahead, as no lender will trust high street firms. The SRA proposals will mean that lenders cannot rely on insurers paying out, replicating the problem which afflicts sole practitioners. Buyers will either have to accept the large firms on lender panels, or pay twice.

Fra from reducing costs, this is another example of the SRA’s proposals potentially having the opposite effect to what they intend.
