I think the judge's comments around para 21 are very important.

You only have to receive a few emails from some of the big insurers' fraud departments to realise that some of these people take it incredibly personally and appear to see themselves as "crusaders against the hordes of dishonest claimants". There often does seem to be a lack of really critical thinking at their end about just what it is they're asking a court to believe.
