The usual old sob stories and nobody wanting to accept the fact that the guaranteed easy money from the duty solicitor scheme back in the day encouraged a number of law firms to take on trainees in order to expand their business in the face of a shrinking demand. Result, last time I checked, about 5 years ago, the Camberwell Green Rota which functioned perfectly well with 20 solicitors, had 750 solicitors. However if you want to bang on about the imminent extinction of criminal lawyers in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, go ahead.
