It baffles me that anyone would agree to be compliance office then chose to take not part in ensuring compliance.

Surely being compliance officer is a scary enough job when you have your hands on the reins. To turn a blind eye to it while remaining in that post and effectively trust your future to the conduct of others is suicidal.

Frankly to me that choice implies a complete unfitness to be a solicitor and warrants a strike off.
