What this situation demands is a high profile advertising campaign under the banner "The Civil Liability Bill......You're on your own!" Informing the public that their damages are to be set by a politician not a judge, at a minuscule level, and if they want to fight for their injury compensation they are on their own against lawyers for the insurers. Short, simple and intended to agitate the public into pushing back. So where is this Law Society campaign, backed by the profession and the papers? Nowhere. Unless Brexit rides to the rescue, it's all over.
