This coroner insisted on a cab rank rule. No matter who, what or when you took your place in the queue and awaited your turn.

What this ruling says is that she must weigh up the individual circumstances taking into consideration the different factors. So if you don't mind waiting a few days and there's a Jewish or Muslim family and they want an immediate burial they will go ahead. On the other hand if you are not Jewish or Muslim but also want an immediate burial the cab rank rule may well prevail.

There are Jewish and Muslim communities all over the country where there are no issues. The problem here was the rigid attitude of this particular coroner. She lost on refusing an MRI scan instead of an autopsy and she has now lost again. Yet some people insist on seeing it as a form of favouritism. Let them explain what really bugs them.
