Lord Keen also mentioned CMCs can help! I have had the pleasure (for the most part) of being a PI lawyer for 30years and not once have I not had to explain what general damages are to clients, and often enough to an insurer. I sincerely hope you are right that the unrepresentative claimant will be able to access all the advice needed to claim everything they are entitled to on the portal but I very much doubt it, the insurers are supposed to be paying for the portal upgrade and I can’t see it will be in their interest to assist a claimant at all. I think you are being naive.
