But why alter the typography? The new font is fussier, flatter, fainter and less easily legible than the old, besides which the quotation marks look sometimes like fishhooks, sometimes, even more confusingly, like acute accents (e.g. 'future' - which seems to ask for a three-syllable pronunciation), and the disparately-sized numerals are a patent reversion to Edwardian norms. Far be it from me to belittle Edwardian values - I only wish we had more of them - but it seems an odd development for the modern "unossified" Gazette.
