The most disappointing thing with reading this is, as someone who provides a transcription service to legal, HR and researchers, I always face an uphill struggle proving how my service can be trusted with a prospective client's recordings. And yet, our security measures seem to be more secure than the CPS.

We have been hired to transcribe some very sensitive legal recordings in the past and, by default, any files we send - by email or other means - are encrypted and secured with a one-use-only password.

I don't know why organisations like CPS and DWP (who have had similar problems in the past) find securing recordings and sensitive data so difficult to carry out.

You have to wonder if it comes down to "it's too much hassle".
