I can understand why you are not prepared to sign your comment. But what you can't understand is the difference between reporting and opinion.

The paragraph you quoted attributed views to the BBC (in context, senior news editors) at the time of the raid. It explains their thinking at a time when they did not know what we all know now: that there was no substance at all to the allegations being investigated.

Of course the guilt of a guilty man has nothing to do with the innocence of an innocent man. But nowhere did I say it did.
