In so far as the Civil Litigation sector is concerned, I still fail to see why the Judiciary surrendered control of fees to the MOJ. A senior Judge advised me it was " a battle lost" which I suppose sums it up. I also fail to understand why Solicitors are supposed to work for low margins and profits when profitability in other professions is praised as a measure of success. I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to consider a career in Law unless they could be guaranteed a job in a magic circle firm working for the likes of Carillion.
