I agree with Anonymous at 12:23 - it seems wholly unrealistic to ask the Bar, who have been refusing work for 2 months, to continue to do so for the benefit of solicitors who have continued to work and collect their salaries/partners' profits.

I too am a solicitor. The difference in our profession is that it takes the partners at firms to organise the action. The young solicitors who are dedicated to criminal work but will never make decent living out of it clearly cannot go on strike. It takes the partners, who in many cases have made a healthy income over recent decades, to organise the stand.

Sadly it has never happened and I anticipate never will.
