I would agree with much of the essence of below, although I feel the courts could do more too.

I also do not feel that October's PD changes have have a particularly dramatic impact on how domestic violence is handled. My experiences in the past 9 months or so seem to suggest that all too often victims (of both sexes) see their allegations mishandled or brushed under the carpet and not given due consideration.
