Okay, I give in. I consider myself an intelligent person. I've looked up information on the SRA, the LSB, the Law Society, the Legal Ombudsman. I'm a practising solicitor, I'm not mentally infirm and English is my mother tongue. So, why do my eyes glaze over and I start to whimper when I read this article? What is the point of a - and I had to read this twice - 16 MONTH investigation into who was overseeing which bit of what? Who paid for it? Who requested it? What in the name of all that is sanity has it proved, and how will it in any way make a difference either to the legal profession or the general public? If I've missed something, I will hold my hands up, but to me it just seems like the aforementioned 'authorities' just have a bit of conflab every now and then and decide one of them is going to give one of the others a telling off. Do we need all of these entities? Smells very much to me like they are all trying to justify their existence.

Yours sincerely campers, Baffled of Sanityville.
