Anon 15:57, my experience is that proportionality is being rigorously applied, with glee in some cases, even when there is nothing to strip off the bill and the work has been made necessary by the circumstances of the case or the defendant's conduct.

Even more so it is being applied at CCMC stage. Now if you said that some firms will do absolutely everything to the nth degree just to rack up costs then I'd agree. That or hideous hourly rates. But those are large firms with swanky offices.
