This will only serve to make the hospital staff even less helpful. When asked how long will it take to see me, the poor receptionist will have to issue a disclaimer and ask the patient to sign it, before replying that it will take as long as it takes.

Agree with comments below. 100 % contributory stupidity. Whenever I've been in hospital, I've always waited my turn and if things deteriorate (as they have done) then advised the staff. It's not rocket science
