For part of my judicial career I was an immigration judge. I suspect, then, that I know far more about the competence and efficiency of the Home Office than this second-rate politician in a third rate government. I have dealt with many thousands of appeals and judicial reviews from all sorts of government departments but in my opinion the Home Office is the most bizarrely dysfunctional of all. When you recall that for a long time Theresa May was Home Secretary you really need to ask no more. If Gauke Really believes what he says he is a fool. If he does not believe what he says then he is a liar. His comments are a brazen affront to the rule of law.
