Anonymous @ 00.35 - the statistics don't seem to support the idea that premiums are 'unaffordable'. As to run-off, surely this is something that those planning to close down their business should plan ahead for? Retirement isn't usually a knee-jerk decision and practitioners looking to close down their firms now have had ample opportunity over many years of practice to retain profit/cash to deal with this entirely predictable eventuality.
