Machine translation is not perfect but neither is human translation.

The former has come a long way. Try right- clicking "Translate this page" when using Google.

Also use that facility to search a phrase such as "improving machine translation" to see the effort being put into this.

The Law Society should support this with a webpage which allows lawyers to post mis-translations to help the process.
