I have no horse in this race being a conveyancer albeit that I used to undertake claimant PI work until a cfa client simply decided, despite having a good claim, to throw the towel in, leaving my firm, a small two partner High Street firm, having to write off about 16K in costs and about 6K in disbursements
But to me the statistic that 1% of the population make a whiplash claim seems remarkably high. Either at 59 years of age and having been involved in four RTAs where I could have suffered injuries but didn't, I am extremely lucky or the figure, if accurate, does lend weight to the suspicion that a large proportion of the claims are fraudulent
