I believe the point the authors are making is that, at present, social media *are* treated as the Press, which - rightly, in my personal opinion - is not subject to regulation in the UK beyond obligations to the criminal law and the torts of defamation etc. The question now is whether social media require a stricter regime. We have published this article from two experts in the field in the hope that Gazette readers will contribute to the debate.
