it was always and obviously discriminatory as regards part time staff the vast majority of whom are women. the changes are a none too subtle acknowledgement that no-one can make any kind of decent living from publicly funded crime lower (ie Duty mags and PStns) work alone. As for having to do a Trial a month continued closure of Courts and the policy of centralising DV work to fewer centres might provide plenty of work in there but work at the rest are withering on the limbs of the vine
