It seems apparent that the knock on effect of pension legislation changes makes judicial appointment far less attractive for some successful lawyers. But the government are between a rock and a hard place and their is a similar crisis with GPs retiring.

The roles are also less attractive because of low morale within sectors of the legal professions, HMCTS, workloads, digital working, LIPs and public perceptions/press attacks on judicial independence.

However, I don't believe the bar should be lowered as the quality and reputation of our judiciary is paramount.

I cannot see any easy or quick fix?!
