This is a non problem. The skills clearly exist - in both barristers and solicitors who would be only too happy to apply were it not for the ridiculous barriers placed in the way. There is no clear, one stop shop, source of guidance for a barrister or solicitor wishing to apply for judicial office, but a proliferation of conflicting information. Anything that can be relayed through 'outreach' days can also be relayed online and/or through vlogs etc. The Gazette articles which have claimed to cover how a solicitor should apply have actually not informed us at all but merely been reflections on how other people have done it a long time ago. If the judiciary want to solve this problem someone needs to have a proper plan and stop wittering about a crisis.
