This is a really important step in stopping the rot, as mentioned the cost of contesting these claims makes it never worth pursuing as the original trial states the claimants still get the award and solicitors get the costs even though they know their client has exaggerated the claim and as such the compensation.
As advised a few weeks ago (and yes I am the insurance man) there's a few more cases like this due to be heard and this case law will now have a profound affect on claims and about time.
