£400k+ earned in legal fees last year?

Initially, I assumed this because Mr Cox was a new MP, only arrived since the 2017 snap election. Odd that he'd be given AG so quickly though...

Of course that's not the explanation, and Geoffrey Cox has been an MP since 2005. No, he has been earning that amount whilst supposedly also working full time as an MP for over a decade.

The register of Members' interests records the (approx) number of hours worked as well as the fees received. It adds up to 1070 hours registered in this parliament. Some of the fees date back to 2016, but at the same time presumably the register does not yet cover all work that Mr Cox QC/MP has done in the last year as some fees will be outstanding.

Assuming those 2 factors even out, that's 1070 hours he's spending each year on non-parliamentary work, or 26 working weeks of 40 hours.

Curiously, 26 weeks would be exactly half a working year, assuming no holidays. At what point do you have to register as a part-time MP?
