According to my Lecturer in Conveyancing, the reason they were abolished was that too many Oxbridge Graduate failed. They were I think as below I say, 'all comers exams' weren't they and modulated and the pass rate was 55% or so across the board.

Just set up the same entry exams for the Judiciary. And tougher and tougher r and tougher exams. And a series. Those committed will succeeded.

Unfortunately it will be the pupils and students from 'Comps'.

Shudder to think, not knowing which way to pass the Port or the Loving Cup Ritual in the Middle Temple?
