I was around when UB came in as a ground and initially something more akin to the old ground of cruelty had to shown and in open court until special procedure became available. As the years rolled by (as observed by others on here) the gravity of alleged UB necessary for a divorce reduced to the comically trivial and the test seemed to be subjective from the Petitioner's perspective. I too cannot understand why a UB petition was not launched. Either the husband is in reality a nice chap or the wife is refreshingly honest or perhaps both!
