Whilst many would wholly disagree with her comments, and many would indeed find them very offensive, it does show a rather worrying trend in public life of the inability to accept that 'being offensive' is one of the privileges of actually living in a democracy.

I can't see how her actions brought the profession into disrepute at all - why would any sane person think that her personal views in any way were representative of the profession as a whole?

And her 18 month suspension seems oddly punitive compared to the inaction by the SRA/SDT of the City Trainee Solicitor with his infamous 'Youtube' rant...
