I am pleased this is being looked at, at last. Fortunately, I no longer deal with resi. as it is the most soul-destroyingly awful job. However, my experience of panel firms is that they are beyond appalling. They give nothing any thought, use no common sense and are uncooperative. I spoke to a presenter at a seminar who told me his local panel firm they took on 16 year-old school leavers and gave them three days training. One firm I heard of had over a 1000 claims in one year. It’s a good thing they’re in charge of the money..... They also demand huge numbers of completely unnecessary indemnity policies.
