The elephant in the room, long ignored by all but a few BTL commenters, finally appears above the line.

Though the Gazette is short of detail in this piece, there can be little doubt that the debate was a far cry from the special pleading on whiplash so familiar to this forum.

Time, now, to recognise and embrace that large, grey quadruped...
