Try making the Professional Exams easier. That has been done since 1994 and has been a tremendous success. So successful that they now suggest Multi .. muller.. multinational errr multiple-choice (managed it!), exams.

I liked the open book no fail ‘exams’ myself, but was ready for the interview at daddies chambers in Ancient Latin and Greek (just like the old times). Glad I was personally tutored in such at my Public School. Indeed I even chose to take my articles at the office and not at home.
