Ah yes the theory of "relative positivity".....you do not have to be Einstein to understand that one! But for those who have not studied this area of science let me explain; an infinitely large negative does not equal a positive but the relationship between an infinitely large negative (such as losing £52m) and the positive (such as the spin placed on that loss) is relative which equals relative positivity. Experts in this field recognise that the first rule of relative positivity means that the greater the negative that has to be reported the more positive the press statement will be. Simple really.
