Fair point. But shire Duty Solicitors. I recall going for the interview myself many years ago. At that time the Duty Solicitors were fiercely protecting their patch to prevent any newcomers on the block.

I had done a lot of PS visits and one of the first questions they asked was what had to be done of the punter didn't understand the caution.

I didn't understand the question because it is for the police to ensure that they do. Obviously I had read Ed Capes Book a dozen times and T V Edwards and others into the bargain and also the Law Society Crappy Guide (which wasn't a match) to these.

The Law Society's own guide confirmed that position. I 'failed' on that point.

I read the guide to the Duty Rep that had interviewed me, and he was askance.

Ha ha. Absolute pedestrians most duties at the time. I don't know if that is still the case?
