It is will recognised that clinically a patient is (generally) better off travelling a reasonable distance for specialist treatment than going to the nearest hospital: for this reason we have major trauma units and specialist facilities.

Just as I wouldn't want a gerontologist at the local 'cottage' hospital treating a major trauma patient so I wouldn't want a high value clinical negligence client being advised by someone who does a bit of knock about road traffic work, the odd probate case and a bit of family / conveyancing tacked onto the side.

Yes, claimant firms still pay for work, via wholly proper marketing and other arrangements: that they do so makes no difference to the merits and or value of the case.

The NHSLA might have a better reception in the profession if they stopped floating such irrelevant confections of nonsense and started engaging properly in the cases brought against them.
