This really is THE most idiotic proposal in the long list of idiotic proposals made by the SRA.

As an employment lawyer, I cannot tell you how long an employment tribunal will take. Being in a firm of more than a dozen fee earners in employment, all we can say is that the fee earners are between unqualified trainees and partners of more than 30 years' experience, with rates between, say £150 - £500, and a total number of hours between 10 and 500 hours. That means the cost range is £1500 + vat to £250,000 + vat. How in heavens name does that help anyone?

Firms will have to quote the largest possible range because, as sure as eggs are eggs, the SRA won't allow anyone to charge more than their maximum figure on their website.

Why are we being regulated by such numpties?
